Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment is where a high school student takes classes for both college and high school credit.
It is an excellent way to validate a student's performance and demonstrate the capability to do college-level work.

In North Carolina, it is called NC Career & College Promise.

To start as a high school freshman or sophomore:

• Be academically or intellectually gifted in English, reading, and math - typically scoring 92% or better on standardized tests but it's up to the student's current school to make the determination.
• Demonstrate college readiness through minimum scores on certain approved tests (PSAT, SAT, PreACT, ACT, NC DAP, or RISE). See College Readiness Benchmarks (page 34)

To start as a high school junior or senior:

• Have a 2.8 or higher GPA
